Skins and Keys

Drie percussionisten uit Duitsland, Iran en Bangladesh en een jazzpianist uit Cuba vormen het improvisatiekwartet Skins and Keys. Hoe anders klinkt muziek op het podium van de X wanneer slagwerktradities van diverse pluimage samensmelten met de piano als constante aanjager. De muzikanten ontmoeten elkaar in wervelende muziekstukken, waarin de melodieuze boventoon van de piano de slagwerkritmes stevig zal inkaderen. Omgekeerd biedt de percussie nieuwe inspiratie voor avontuurlijke impulsen op de piano.

Skin and Keys is formed by three percussionists from Germany, Iran and Bangladesh and a pianist from Cuba, who will show the audience of the X how different music will sound when different traditions of percussion blend together with the driving force of the piano. The musicians will meet in several dynamic compositions in which they will strive to inspire themselves and their audience.
