Fra Fra Sound, de meest toonaangevende Surinaams-Caribische jazzgroep, speelt voornamelijk stukken van hun recent verschenen cd Dya So. De albumtitel Dya So betekent ‘here, right now!’; een non-verbale reactie op de meest actuele maatschappelijke thema’s, zoals migratie, globalisatie en de multiculturele samenleving. De groep heeft een volstrekt eigen geluid ontwikkeld, waarin Surinaams-Caribische en Afrikaanse ritmes en grooves succesvol worden verweven met jazz improvisatie. Fra Fra Sound is en blijft een echte live band die men gezien en gehoord moet hebben!
