In his meditative exquistely refined guitar playing Gustavo Pazos Conde investigates the roots of the country forms that provide the deep, fertile soil from which much South American music has grown. (…) A beautifully produced, profoundly poetic album”.
“Lovely twists and turns in well crafted music together with a brilliant technique. The contemporary guitar scene will not be disappointed.” (Classical guitar magazine)

El Gaucho y El Flamenco - two traditions on the Spanish guitar
Gustavo Pazos Conde, from Uruguay, brings the unique, tranquil music from the Gaucho tradition of Uruguay. He talks about melancholy, memories and about Tacuarembó
(Uruguay), his family's region where emptiness and tranquility determine life. From his childhood in Montevideo he has devoted himself to this special music with rhythms such as milonga, vidalita and stilo. He will perform work from his new CD Rincon de las penas.
The English magazine Songlines wrote the following about his previous CD Estación Eden:
“In his meditative exquisitely refined guitar playing Gustavo Pazos Conde investigates the roots of the country forms that provide the deep, fertile soil from which much South American music has grown. (…) A beautifully produced, profoundly poetic album”.
Adrian Elissen, flamenco guitarist, has played on many national and international stages (including Concertgebouw Amsterdam; Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall, Istanbul) as well as in various Spanish companies, including those of Juan Ramon Caro and dancer Andres Marin, and he led a Sufi flamenco project that performed internationally. He is a former star student of Paco Peña and teacher at the Taller flamenco in Seville, Spain. His latest solo CD Amalgama was released on the Silvox label, about which was written:
“Lovely twists and turns in well crafted music together with a brilliant technique. The contemporary guitar scene will not be disappointed.” (Classical guitar magazine) Gustavo met the flamenco guitarist Adrian Elissen in Amsterdam and, out of love for both traditions, they decided to create a program in which the two traditions are first performed separately and then together.
Both artists will take you on a journey this evening with exclusively their own compositions, which makes these two beautiful traditions so unique.
